The redactors of the bible were clearly very sloppy when constructing their theology, including its corresponding "God". As you say, biblegod was mysteriously "repented"(aka, filled w/regret) when he discovered that his creation didn't behave in accordance with his wishes. This is a serious red flag, since, if throughout the rest of the bible this "God" had prescience of future events, AKA, having "Prophetic" capabilities, then it would follow that this god would have *also* had prescience of the events to come in the infamous "Garden". <br /><br />Christians clearly want things both ways: They want to say that their deity is saddened and regretful by our behavior, but out of the other corner of their mouths they want to say that "God is Perfect".
